When you use 5 Minute Break, we may collect the following information:

• Account data: If you create an account, we store your username and a securely hashed password. We never store plain-text passwords.
• Google Sign-In: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. We use this only to create and manage your account.
• Game data: Scores, levels, and play session durations are recorded to power leaderboards and popularity rankings.
• Play time: Anonymous play session durations are tracked automatically to sort games by popularity. No personal information is attached to these sessions.

2. Cookies

We use a single encrypted session cookie (fmb_session) to keep you logged in. This cookie expires after 7 days of inactivity. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

3. Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, session duration, general location). Google Analytics uses its own cookies. You can opt out by using a browser extension or disabling cookies.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the service
• To display leaderboards and game statistics

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your username and scores are publicly visible on leaderboards. We may share anonymous, aggregated statistics (e.g., total games played).

Your data is stored in a SQLite database on our server. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Session data is encrypted using iron-session.

7. Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Leaderboard scores from deleted accounts will be anonymized.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
